BRETT HEARN WINS 26TH SATURDAY NIGHT MODIFIED
POINT CHAMPIONSHIP

Hearn adds 11th Lebanon Valley Speedway title to his career racing record

SUSSEX, NJ (September 22)……..In 1978, after just three years racing in the dirt track Sportsman division, Brett Hearn moved up to the Modified ranks. In 36* of the 39 racing seasons since then, Hearn has competed for wins and championships at either Orange County Fair Speedway (Middletown, New York) or Lebanon Valley Speedway (West Lebanon, New York) virtually every Saturday night. And over those 36 years, he has won 26 track point championships—15 at Orange County and 11 at Lebanon Valley. (*1988 NASCAR BGN, 2000 USNA, 2008 SDS on Saturdays)

Hearn raced for Modified division points 21 years at Orange County, winning 15 titles, a 71.4 percent winning record. At Lebanon Valley, Hearn has chased the Modified championship 15 seasons, winning 11 titles, a 73.3 percent winning record. This year’s Lebanon Valley title was his fifth consecutive in the ultra-fast Modified division.

“There is no magic formula for winning championships, other than hard work and dedication,” says Hearn. “We strive to be among the top cars every week, and when we do have an off night—a wreck or mechanical failure—we work even harder the next week to overcome it.”

With several races remaining in the 2016 season, Hearn’s career record included 893 feature race victories (552 Big-Block Modified, 339 Small-Block Modified/Sportsman, 2 Sprint Car) at 49 different tracks in 11 states and two Canadian provinces. He has won 89 track and series championships, and in 2013 year was named Area Auto Racing News “50 Years Greatest Driver.”
